The goal of the Michelle Schidowka Memorial Fund is to provide future children and students the ability to experience the music and beauty of the Kobzarska Sich Bandura and Ukrainian Music Program.

Our Story
The Kobzarska Sich (KS) Bandura and Ukrainian Music Program has taken place every summer in Emlenton, Pennsylvania since 1979, and it held a very special place in Michelle’s heart.
Throughout her lifetime, Michelle was a student, teacher, and camp director at Kobzarska Sich – a mystical place which draws people from around the world who share a common love of the bandura , a rare 60-stringed instrument native to Ukraine, and Ukrainian music.
It is also where she met her husband Nick, and where, today, her children Alex and Sophie attend during these special two weeks in August.
Thanks to the generosity of our family and friends, over $40,000 has been raised.

Our Goal
Our goal is to have the fund reach a minimum of $100,000 over the next few years so that more bandura students primarily can have the opportunity to attend Kobzarska Sich.
Every $20,000 that we can raise gives another student the opportunity to attend the program every year without depleting the fund while allowing Michelle’s name and memory to live on for generations to come.
